‘Audience wants spice’
Talking to DNA India, Ram said, ‘Today’s audience wants drama and masala and if they don’t get it, they don’t want to watch it. If they don’t want to watch it, then such mythological series cannot come on your TV. This works for everyone. We get some rights. But we have to stay within our limitations and the truth should not be changed. We can change the way we show it. We can make an event look bigger. There is creative liberty, but you cannot change the truth.’
He further said, ‘Whoever is making mythological, everyone is making it very well. And everyone comes with their own perspective. The image of Shiva in my eyes may not be the same in your eyes. In my eyes, Shiva is probably bearded. And in your eyes, he may be clean shaven. In your eyes, he may be like a bodybuilder and in my eyes, he is thin and long with dreadlocks, like an Aghori…everyone has a perspective.’
